Strotex Breathable Membrane for Roof Available from EasyMerchant
This roof membrane is used in economic construction for roofs with the open thermal insulation system. It is an effective roofing accessory for protecting the roof insulation against moisture due to its high vapour permeability and full water tightness (EN 13859-2-W1).
The breathable membrane can also be a perfect wind barrier to protect thermal insulation in walls and roofs.
Is breathable roof membrane waterproof?
The Strotex breathable membrane has been tested and certified to meet EN 13859-2-W1. This standard requires a membrane to be tested for a minimum of 2 hours at a pressure of 2kPa to stimulate driving rain conditions. The membrane will protect the thermal insulation against rain and snow.
How to install a breathable roof membrane –Â
- Join the membrane with adhesive tape using an overlap which you will find defined by lines printed on the membrane
- Fasten to your rafters with staples
- Finish using a double sided membrane tape.
AdvantagesÂ
- High water vapour permeability to moisture to be absorbed and directed outside through the ventilation gap.
- Made with UV stabilizers to slow down the aging process caused by weather conditions.
- Special anti-reflective coating
- Low Sd coefficient so the roof membranes can be used in roofs where thermal insulation is up to the full rafter height – can be laid directly on top of the insulation.
