Installation (for full instructions please see downloads for the manufacturers installation guide) 

1. Excavate the ground to the required level
2. Place non woven geotextile onto your prepared subgrade using a minimum of 300mm overlap at the joints. If you require additional stability you can use a Biaxial Geogrid on top of this.
3. Place and compact type 3 open graded granular material on top (or your chosen aggregate to help with drainage) with a minimum coverage of 100mm to form a strong permeable sub base layer.
4. Install edge restrains such as concrete kerbs, steel or plastic or treated timber boards/sleepers.
5. Lay a second layer of non woven geotextile with a minimum of 300mm overlap.
6. Place, compact and screed granular bedding (angular gravel or grit sand) to a minimum uniform thickness of 35mm. (The use of rounded pea shing/gravel is not recommended)
7. Starting in the corner of the longest straight edge, leaving an expansion gap of approximately 25mm around the perimeter, place your first unit (1m x 1m – 1 pre-connected set of grids) with the loop connectors facing outwards as a leading edge towards the remainder of the bedding area. Apply firm pressure to ensure that the ground spikes are pressed fully into the bedding with the base of the units sitting flat on the bedding layer surface.
8. Connect adjacent Bod pave units together, slotting the edge half cells down into the edge loops. Always leading with the loops, progress in rows locking the units in place with firm pressure over the snap fit clips.
9. Cut pavers to fit around any obstructions and at the end of rows using a fine toother hand or circular power saw. Any partial units can be fixed using snap fit clips and nylon cable ties.
10. Install snap fit markers if required
11. Once you have installed all of the BodPave 40 units, fill with clean angular aggregate gravel chippings level to the top of the unites – do not overfill. You can use a light vibrating plate compactor to consolidate the pavers and settle the fill. Top up cells as required after settlement. (The use of rounded pea shing/gravel is not recommended)
12. Your surface is ready for use!
