A gutter running outlet is designed to connect your horizontal guttering runs with your vertical square downpipe stack. By doing so, water that runs off your roof is channelled into the downpipe which push fit directly onto the running outlet which allows the rainwater to be directed down into the underground drainage system that services your property.

Although the outlet is the last part of the square gutter run that water sees before it heads down to the drain – you’ll normally fit it before your gutter runs go up, as to align it with your stormwater drainage entry point.

After measuring your furthest bracket height – the outlet should be fitted to the facias to allow for a 3mm fall across every metre of guttering run leading to it. This means water will drain – rather than just sitting in your gutters.

Gutter running outlets act as a bracket – since it has two screw holes that allow for direct connection to the facias. As such, it does not need additional fascia brackets to keep it in place.
