Buy a 68mm Downpipe Bend – 90 Degree – From EasyMerchant
Colour: Black / White / Grey and Anthracite Grey
Unfortunately, it’s not always as simple as running a vertical downpipe straight into the drain from the outlet of your half round guttering – so that means you may need to bring the 68mm downpipe closer to the building’s wall from under the soffit. The offset 90 degree downpipe bend is perfect where a swan neck may not be suitable.
Our hard-wearing UPVC bends make installation quick and easy and they’re extremely cost effective too.
Fitting an offset bend
Fitting an offset bend is likely to be one of the easiest parts of your downpipe installation. The bend will simply push into place once the downpipe has been cut to length – before the next required angle or accessory is fitted to the other end.
If you run into any undue resistance, a silicone based lubricant can be applied to the socket to make connection smoother – but while maintaining the watertight seal. Although this is not usually necessary.
It’s unlikely that you’ll need to fit a downpipe clip to keep the bend secure – but you will need to ensure the vertical runs of downpipe are secured above and below the bends you install.
When you walk away from a gutter installation job, it’s important to know you’ve used quality components – otherwise you could be refitting or dealing with leaks. With this in mind, we make sure all our products meet or exceed strict British rainwater goods standards and are kitemarked as proof they’ve been tested and are suitable for use in the UK market.
