Heavy Duty Manhole Covers and frames offer a robust and secure solution for industrial and residential use. Made from hard-wearing and durable polypropylene, Brett Martin’s Non-Adoptable Inspection Chambers are capable of withstanding a maximum loading of 50kN (when reinforced by a concrete plinth). Tested to EN124 A15 and in conformance with Building Regulations, these plastic manhole covers have the seal of approval. The effective webbed design provides a substantially stronger lid.

The A15 regulation is given to manhole covers that are appropriate for pedestrian and cyclist use. Heavier use areas covering any type of domestic or commercial motor vehicle will require a higher-rated cover to protect inspection chambers. However, when used in conjunction with concrete reinforcing plinth, the load of 50kN is more in line with the regulation use for cars and vans. B125 regulation use covers driveways and occasional light traffic and C250 covers slow-moving traffic – both which operate within the 50kN testing pressure.

A concrete plinth is a block base designed to support manhole covers. When you choose to support the cover in this manner it stands to improve the strength of the supporting frame and offer better protection of the inspection chambers it is designed to conceal.
