This EasyMerchant Silt Bucket can be adapted to provide a minimum invert of 200mm. Where required, our silt traps can be extended by adding standard 320mm risers to reach the desired height within your installation.

What is a silt trap?

EasyMerchant Silt Traps are designed specifically for use with soakaway systems, helping to disperse surface water and other drainage. Each of our silt traps has an integral silt bucket that sits just below the inlet pipe. As rainwater enters the unit, the silt and other ground solids held in the water, fall into the bucket and settle inside.

When the bucket is full, the rainwater or excess surface water will overflow into the primary chamber and any milder silt and sand should settle at its base. The cleaner separated water discharges from the outlet pipe into the drainage system. To ensure the optimum performance of your silt traps, you should maintain a schedule emptying the bucket of solids. It’s important to ensure that they don’t fill completely, rendering them inefficient and unable to disperse the surface water as required.
