This strap on boss will allow the installer to add an entry to the soil stack for a waste pipe. It features a 63mm boss for use with a 110mm Push Fit Soil Rubber Boss Adaptor to reduce to 32/40/50mm waste pipe. The strap on boss fits around the plastic soil and vent pipe and can be attached and removed with ease.

Fitting a strap on boss

• Although fitting the strap on boss itself is a simple job – it does require a hole to be drilled into the 110mm pipework that you’re working on. To make sure you select the correct size hole saw, it’s important that you measure between the locator lugs found on the inside of the strap boss – rather than cutting a hole the size of the pipe you’re bringing into the stack.
• By measuring these lugs, you’ll be making sure that the strap on boss will sit flush against the pipe – otherwise, the lugs will hold the boss away from the stack and it won’t be possible to get a watertight seal.
• Before drilling the hole, mark your hole location – then drill carefully and slowly, avoiding disrupting the stack too much.
• When your 110mm pipe is drilled, prepare it for your rubber boss adaptor – and, when applied, you can slip the strap over the stack pipe and tighten it, making sure the lugs locate into the hole you’ve created.
