Why use a soil pipe socket plug?

Sometimes, the perfect shape fitting comes with open sockets you just don’t need. Then again, you might be working on a stack and need to temporarily close a socket to prevent leaking.

Fitting a socket plug

Fitting a blanking plug takes no more than a few seconds. The plug will simply push into the socket you’re planning to close off. You won’t need to apply any solvent weld as the plug is shaped to fit perfectly into a ring seal fitting – ideal if you need to just blank the socket of for a short while.

If you are hoping for a permanent cap, the push fit plug will stay in place perfectly.

Manufacturing tolerances from manufacturer to manufacturer sometimes make push-fit components a tight fit – so it’s useful to have a silicone based lubricant to hand, just in case your socket plug is a tight fit.
