Although we have 50m coils of green duct pipe ducting available – we appreciate that not every job needs quite so much. With this in mind, we also stock these 6m rigid lengths of green twinwall ducting pipe – made specifically for CCTV and fibre optic cabling.

HDPE ducting protects fragile fibre cabling

Although it’s tougher than most people think, fibre cabling doesn’t stand up well to impacts – so it’s always important to make sure you use an appropriate twinwall duct to protect CCTV / cable TV / fibre networking cables. Our ducting is very similar to BT ducting – used to protect their fibre phone / broadband lines.

Like BT ducting, our HDPE twinwall products are as tough as ducting gets. The dense polymer weave means that it’s hardwearing, notch resistant, easy to work with, and extremely resistant to chemicals.

The smooth inner bore and draw cord make it quick and easy to pull your fibre cables into place – and the outer corrugated layer helps to prevent the surrounding environment putting pressure on the duct and potentially unsettling the cable(s) within.

Installing a warning tape

Although your ducting should be installed at a minimum depth of 450mm – it’s always important to make sure you install a marker tape that identifies the duct at roughly 150mm under the surface. This will help to prevent people who are digging running into the duct and potentially causing damage.
