Fitting pipe couplers to underground drainage pipes

Although simple in principle, fitting connectors can be tricky when you’re working with 160mm underground drainage system pipes – not least because you have to access the appropriate section before you can even begin work.

When you’ve got access, you’ll need to make sure the pipes you’re connecting cut to the correct length and clean – free from any dirt or debris. This is crucial in making sure you’ve got a solid connection with the ring-seal fittings.

All our 160mm underground drainage pipes come pre-lubricated, so when you’re certain the connection is clean, you can push your cut and chamfered pipes into place – backing them out a couple of millimetres after you’ve made your connection – to allow for expansion through the system.
